Cancer in our Community

For the past year, we’ve had the great privilege to be working on a project for the office of Community Outreach, Engagement and Equity at Moffitt Cancer Center. “Cancer in our Community” is a podcast created to address health inequities within Black/African American communities.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, health equity is achieved when every person has the opportunity to attain their full health potential and no one is disadvantaged from achieving this potential because of social position or other socially determined circumstances.

Drs. Brandon Blue and Iman Washington recording a podcast episode at Moffitt Cancer Center.

Each episode features Dr. Brandon Blue, an oncologist at Moffitt, speaking with experts studying the effects of biology, society and education to make these goals of health equity a reality.

You can listen to the first four episodes of the series on Soundcloud.
