SENSATIONAL SCIFEST
What You’ll Support
Sensational SciFest is a celebration of science designed for children with sensory sensitivities and other special needs.
We’ve partnered with amazing organizations like CARD-USF (Center for Autism and Related Disabilities) as well as AMRoC Fab Lab, Foundation for Community Innovation and Roboticon of Tampa Bay to design an event that prioritizes the sensory needs of neurodivergent kids in an science festival that will launch their imagination into orbit!
What Volunteers Receive
All of our volunteers are required to complete training through CARD-USF to make sure that every child who attends has a fun and safe experience. CARD training will help you understand the special social needs of neurodivergent kids and teens.
Our inaugural event was a great success - thanks in large part to our amazing volunteers! We look forward to hosting another Sensational SciFest with you soon.
Roles available to volunteers are: pre-event planning, event day set up, event day support, event day clean up.
If you choose event day support, you’ll be helping with a science exhibit, attending to a support station (like the calming zone or information desk), or simply floating between exhibits in case someone needs a helping hand.
